This 1967 Volkswagen Beetle convertible is a non-running project that was sold new by Westroads VW in Omaha, Nebraska, and was relocated to Colorado in 1968. It was acquired in 1999 by the seller, who replaced the floor pans and convertible reinforcement rails, and drove it approximately 2k miles over the next 10 years. In 2008 the car was disassembled for refurbishment, though it retains its replacement air-cooled flat-four, four-speed manual transaxle, fuel tank, two-spoke steering wheel, steering column, pedal assembly, shifter, heater controls, rear bench seat, and wiring harness. The soft top and frame are included in the sale along with a collection of other miscellaneous removed parts. This project Beetle is now offered at no reserve with repair manuals, manufacturer’s literature, service documents, and a clean Washington State title in the seller’s name.
The body wears a yellow finish that was applied circa 2008, and the seller notes the floor pans and body reinforcement rails were replaced upon their purchase of the vehicle in 1999. Photos of the included convertible top and frame along with other miscellaneous parts are viewable in the gallery.
The ventilated 15″ wide-five steel wheels are wrapped in older 165-series tires and are mounted over drum brakes at all four corners. One hubcap is installed.
The two-spoke steering wheel, steering column, pedal assembly, shifter, heater controls, rear bench seat, and wiring harness remain installed. No front seats are included in the sale.
The 90-mph speedometer and fuel level gauge have been removed but are included in the sale. The seller notes the five-digit mechanical odometer shows 52k miles, and they have added approximately 2k miles during their ownership.
The car is equipped with a replacement 1.3L “40hp” air-cooled falt-four and a four-speed manual transaxle.
Corrosion is noted on various underbody components.
Removed parts are included in the sale along with repair manuals, manufacturer’s literature, and service documents.
