This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is finished in Milano Maroon over white leather and powered by a 327ci V8 mated to a replacement Tremec five-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a Haartz black soft top, turbine-style 15″ knock-off wheels, BFGoodrich Goldline tires, four-wheel disc brakes, power-assisted steering, and side-exit exhaust outlets, while the cabin is outfitted with air conditioning and a Delco push-button radio. The car was refurbished in 2020 before being acquired by the current owner in 2022 in California. Subsequent work consisted of installing a 100-amp alternator and a Holley Street Avenger carburetor as well as replacing the tires, exhaust manifold gaskets and studs, and carburetor heat shield and linkage. This C2 convertible was offered by the selling dealer on BaT in July 2023 and is offered again on dealer consignment at no reserve with a removed four-speed manual transmission and a clean California title.
The car was finished from the factory in Milano Maroon (900MM), and the body was repainted in 2020 under prior ownership. A replacement windshield and rubber seals were installed as well as a Haartz black soft top. Further details include retractable headlights, split chrome bumpers, fender vents, and side-exit exhaust outlets.
Turbine-style 15″ alloy wheels are mounted with three-eared knockoffs and wear 205/75 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial Goldline tires that were mounted in April 2023. Replacement shocks have been installed along with a VBP 330 composite rear mono-leaf spring. The car is equipped with power steering, and braking is handled by power-assisted disc brakes at all four corners.
The bucket seats were reupholstered in white leather and are joined by color-coordinated door panels and a contrasting black dashboard. Additional equipment includes replacement black carpeting, embroidered floor mats, air conditioning, a replacement clock, a heater, and a Delco push-button AM/FM radio linked to aftermarket speakers.
A woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,300-rpm redline along with supplementary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 67k miles, and the true mileage is unknown.
The 327ci V8 features a Holley 670-CFM Street Avenger carburetor that was installed in July 2022, and additional work at that time included installing a 100-amp alternator, servicing the fluids, and replacing the exhaust manifold gaskets and studs, carburetor heat shield, dual feed tube, and linkage. The head gaskets are said to have been replaced in December 2023.
The engine code and serial number are shown above. The HH suffix corresponds with a 365-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels through a replacement Tremec five-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 rear gear.
