This 1973 Alfa Romeo 2000 Spider Veloce was acquired by the current owner in 1975, and it is powered by a 2.0L twin-cam inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. The car is finished in Rosso over black vinyl, and equipment includes a black vinyl convertible top, power-assisted disc brakes, 14″ steel wheels, fog lights, a wood-rimmed Personal steering wheel, and an AM/FM stereo. This S2 Spider is now offered by the seller on behalf of the current owner at no reserve with the owner’s manual, service records, and a clean Illinois title in the owner’s name.
The Pininfarina-designed bodywork is finished in Rosso, and the passenger door and rear quarter panel have been repainted. Exterior equipment includes a replacement black vinyl convertible top, fog lights, a grille protector, a driver-side mirror, bright trim, and a central exhaust outlet. Rust is present aft of the right front wheel and there are dents on the rear valance. Paint chips and fading around the body are shown in the walk-around video in the gallery.
The 14″ steel wheels are mounted with 185/70 General Altimax tires. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension, a live rear axle, and anti-roll bars. Braking is provided by power-assisted four-wheel discs. The suspension bushings could use replacement per an October 2024 invoice in the gallery.
The cabin features front bucket seats with black vinyl upholstery complemented by a color-coordinated dashboard, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include an AM/FM stereo, a dashboard-mounted gearshift lever, and an integrated center console. There are tears on the driver’s seat and cracks on the dash.
The wood-rimmed Personal steering wheel fronts a dual binnacle gauge cluster housing a Jaeger 8k-rpm tachometer alongside a 140-mph speedometer as well as centrally mounted gauges indicating fuel level, oil pressure, and water temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 82k miles, approximately 70k of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.0L twin-cam inline-four was factory equipped with SPICA mechanical fuel injection and was rated at 129 horsepower when new. A recored radiator was installed, an oil change was performed, and the fuel filter, hood cable, and brake level sensor float were replaced in October 2024. Various oil leaks are noted.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
Service records and literature accompany the vehicle.
