This 1981 Triumph TR8 convertible spent time in California and Texas before it was acquired by the current owner in 2014. Refinished in white over replacement blue leather, the car is powered by a 3.5-liter V8 paired with a five-speed manual transmission. It is also equipped with a blue soft top, a forward-hinged hood, Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection, an aluminum radiator, an electric fan, front disc brakes with cross-drilled and slotted rotors, and 13″ alloy wheels as well as a cabin heater, bucket seats, and a rear parcel shelf. This TR8 is offered at no reserve by the seller on behalf of the owner with a clean Carfax report and a clean Texas title in the owner’s name.
The car was repainted in its factory shade white under previous ownership, according to the seller. Exterior details include a forward-hinged hood, a power antenna, and functional hood louvers along with a replacement blue soft top with fogged windows. The pop-up headlights have been disconnected, though the seller notes that they can be raised and lowered manually.
Silver-finished 13″ alloy wheels are mounted with older Goodyear tires. The car was factory equipped with anti-roll bars and an independent front suspension. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and the car has reportedly been fitted with braided stainless-steel brake lines and cross-drilled and slotted front brake rotors. The seller notes that the power steering rack is leaking, and the power-steering pump drive belt has been removed.
The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in replacement blue leather. Appointments include a locking glovebox, a cabin heater, three-point seatbelts, and a rear parcel shelf. The air-conditioning system was removed under previous ownership, and the center console lights are inoperative.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 49k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership. The seller notes that the speedometer and fuel gauge readings are inaccurate.
The 3.5-liter Rover V8 features Bosch L-Jetronic fuel injection and electronic ignition, and it produced 148 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque when new. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. The seller notes that the car features an aluminum radiator in addition to an electric fan with an adjustable thermostat, and the rear differential has factory 3.08:1 final-drive gearing.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists limited history in California and Texas from its initial entry in January 1996.
