This 1967 Pontiac GTO convertible was acquired by the seller in 1980, and work under current ownership has included a repaint in blue in the 1990s and refurbishment work in 2023 that totaled $42k. The car is powered by a 400ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes three two-barrel carburetors, a Safe-T-Track differential, a white soft top, 14″ Rally II wheels with chrome trim rings, a Hurst shifter, and a Mustang cassette stereo. The 2023 refurbishment included refinishing the engine block and the replacement of the brakes, clutch, fuel system, timing chain, carpeting, right-rear floor pan, and seat belts. This GTO is now offered with Pontiac Historic Services documents, 2023-dated refurbishment records, and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
The car was factory-finished in Fathom Blue (E) and is said to have been refinished in the 1990s. Features include a power-operated white convertible top as well as stacked headlights, a hood scoop, a driver-side mirror, GTO badging, and chrome trim on the grille, bumpers, window surrounds, and rocker panels.
Rally II 15″ wheels feature chrome trim rings and are mounted with 215/65 front and 245/60 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Stopping is provided by four-wheel drum brakes, and the brake system components and the rear shocks were replaced in 2023.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in Parchment vinyl, and interior appointments include a full-length center console, a Hurst shifter, a Mustang cassette stereo, a heater, and a locking glovebox. The right-rear floor pan, carpeting, seat belts, and door sill plates were replaced in 2023.
The three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge, and a pair of auxiliary gauges are mounted underneath the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 3,500 miles and approximately 10k were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 400ci V8 is equipped with a tri-power setup said to have been sourced from a 1966 GTO. The engine was removed, detailed, and refinished in 2023, and additional work included the installation of a Pertronix ignition system and the replacement of the fuel tank, fuel pump, water pump, wiring harnesses, timing chain, and heater core.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and an optional Safe-T-Track differential. The clutch assembly was replaced in 2023.
Pontiac Historical Services documentation is included in the sale.
