This 1979 MGB Roadster spent time in long-term ownership in New York until the seller’s acquisition in 2022. It is finished in Leyland White over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes a black soft top, dual SU carburetors, a ceramic-coated header, an aluminum radiator, an electric cooling fan, front disc brakes, 14″ Minator wheels, a luggage rack, a cabin heater, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. Work under current ownership included overhauling the brake system, servicing the engine, and replacing the exhaust system, fuel pump, battery, air filters, engine and transmission mounts, transmission, and interior seat foam. This MGB shows 91k miles and is offered at no reserve with a black tonneau cover, spare wheels, service records, and a clean Georgia title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished under previous ownership in Leyland White with silver side graphics and features a black soft top, door-mounted side mirrors, a chrome luggage rack, black rubber bumpers, and rear mud flaps. The included black tonneau cover has a repair near the driver door.
Silver-finished 14″ Minator alloy wheels are mounted with Hankook Kinergy ST tires manufactured in 2022. The suspension is dropped on front lowering springs and rear spring spacers, and braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The front brake rotors and pads and the rear drums and shoes were replaced under current ownership.
The bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl that extends to the door panels. Appointments include a cabin heater, a center console, crank windows, and a Blaupunkt cassette stereo. The seat foam and seatbelts were replaced under current ownership, and tears in the driver seat upholstery are depicted in the gallery.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames instrumentation consisting of a 120-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 91k miles, less than 1k of which were added under current ownership.
The 1.8-liter inline-four features dual SU carburetors with individual K&N filters as well as a polished valve cover, a ceramic-coated header, an aluminum radiator, and an electric cooling fan. Work under current ownership included replacing the timing chain and tensioners, fuel pump, battery, engine mounts, spark plugs, alternator, and exhaust system.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a replacement four-speed manual transmission with overdrive that was installed with replacement transmission mounts in 2023.
Removed Rostyle steel wheels are included in the sale.
