This 1969 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia convertible was refurbished under previous ownership in 2019 and acquired by the seller in January 2021. It is finished in red with a black convertible soft top over black upholstery and is powered by a replacement 1.6L air-cooled flat-four paired with a three-speed semi-automatic transaxle. Equipment includes chrome 15″ steel wheels, front disc brakes, wood veneer dashboard trim, bullet-style front turn indicators, dual “pea shooter” exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders. This Karmann Ghia convertible is now offered a tool kit, uninstalled radio speakers, 2024 service documents, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The body is believed to have initially been finished in Oriole Yellow (L11K) and was repainted red under previous ownership in 2019, while the black convertible soft top was replaced in February 2024. Exterior details include polished beltline trim, bullet-style front turn indicators, dual “pea shooter” exhaust outlets, and chrome bumpers with overriders and black rubber rub strips. A dent is noted in the left rear.

Chrome 15″ wheels wear matching VW-stamped hubcaps and are mounted with 165-series Cooper Sport 1000 tires. Stopping power is provided by front discs and rear drums.

The front bucket seats and folding rear bench are trimmed in black basketweave pattern upholstery and are joined by color-coordinated door panels and salt-and-pepper carpeting. The wood veneer on the dashboard was replaced in February 2024. A retro-style radio has been fitted, but there are no speakers connected.

The replacement two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring with a Wolfsburg crest center cap and frames a 90-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a fuel level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 78k miles, approximately 1k of which have been added under current ownership.

The replacement dual-port 1.6L air-cooled flat-four is fed by a single downdraft carburetor linked to an oil bath air cleaner. The engine bay is fitted with a control valve and fluid reservoir for the semi-automatic transaxle.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through an “Automatic Stickshift” three-speed semi-automatic transaxle.
