This 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air two-door convertible is powered by a 283ci Turbo-Fire V8 paired with a two-speed automatic transmission. The car was refinished in blue circa 2019, and it has a black soft top and two-tone blue vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes 14″ steel wheels, chrome bumpers, dual chrome mirrors, a split-folding front bench seat, a retro-style stereo, and trunk-mounted speakers. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this Bel Air convertible is now offered with South Africa registration.

The car left the factory in Harbor Blue and was refinished in silver at some point under prior ownership. It was then painted in its current shade of blue circa 2019 and is fitted with a power-operated black soft top, twin wind splits, hooded headlights, dual chrome mirrors, a fuel filler concealed above the left taillight, and chrome bumpers and trim. A blemish on the hood is depicted in the gallery below.

Steel 14″ steel wear covers and are mounted with whitewall tires, which the selling dealer notes were installed in 2024. Braking is provided by front and rear drums.

The split-folding front and rear bench seats are upholstered in two-tone blue vinyl. Interior appointments include a locking glovebox, an analog clock, and a retro-style push-button stereo linked to Pioneer speakers housed in the trunk. The seller notes that the interior needs cleaning.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames a 120-mph speedometer flanked by readouts for coolant temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 39k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.

The 283ci Turbo-Fire V8 was equipped from the factory with a two-barrel carburetor.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a two-speed Powerglide automatic transmission.

Decoding the trim tag reveals the following information:

  • Style: 57-1067DTX – 1957 Bel Air two-door convertible
  • Body: L31633 – Lansing, Michigan assembly number
  • Trim: 679 – Blue vinyl
  • Paint: 796 – Harbor Blue

The vehicle does not have a title and is being sold on its South Africa registration.
