This 1955 Ford Thunderbird is powered by a 292ci V8 paired with a three-speed Fordomatic automatic transmission, and it is finished in Torch Red over red and white pleated vinyl. Equipment includes a white hardtop with porthole windows, power-adjustable seats, a heater, power windows, an aftermarket cassette stereo, and an analog clock. Acquired by the seller on BaT in December 2021, this Thunderbird is now offered with a soft top assembly and a South Carolina title in the seller’s name.

Originally finished in Thunderbird Blue, the car has been repainted Torch Red, and equipment includes a white removable hardtop with porthole windows, a “checkered flags” hood emblem, chrome bumpers, faux front fender vents, auxiliary parking lights, a fixed antenna, and dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear bumperettes. A dent around the nose was repaired under current ownership. A soft top assembly accompanies the vehicle.

Body-color 14″ steel wheels wear chrome covers and are mounted with Goodyear Super Cushion whitewall tires. Stopping power is supplied by drum brakes at each corner.

The power-adjustable bench seat is upholstered in red and white pleated vinyl and is accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard and door panels. Amenities include lap belts, a heater, a cassette radio, an analog clock, a floor-mounted shifter, power windows, and a locking glovebox. There are stains on the carpets.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and frames an Astra Dial instrument cluster housing a sweeping 150-mph speedometer, a 5k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 47k miles, approximately 350 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 292ci Y-block V8 is topped with a four-barrel carburetor and was factory rated at 198 horsepower.

Power is routed to the rear wheels via a Fordomatic three-speed automatic transmission.

The South Carolina title lists “Exempt” under the brands section.
