This 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Sunliner is powered by a 406ci FE V8 with three two-barrel carburetors that is mated to a four-speed manual transmission. The car underwent a color change to red and an interior re-trim in red, white, and black vinyl as part of a refurbishment completed under previous ownership. It is further equipped with chrome-finished fender skirts and 14″ steel wheels along with a dual exhaust system, a white convertible top, and an AM radio. Work following the seller’s acquisition in 2024 is noted to have involved adjusting the carburetors, lifters, and valves as well as installing an alternator and servicing the transmission. This Galaxie 500 convertible is now offered with recent service records and a clean Arkansas title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory finished in Corinthian White (M) and was repainted red as part of the aforementioned refurbishment completed under previous ownership. The car wears a white soft top paired with a red top boot, and further details include quad headlights, dual side mirrors, and 406 fender badging along with chrome-finished fender skirts and bumpers.

The chrome-finished 14″ steel wheels are mounted with 215/75 Vercelli Classic white-stripe tires. The car was factory equipped with a coil-spring front suspension and asymmetrical rear suspension with leaf springs mounted on the axle forward of the spring centers to reduce rear-end squat. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.

The bench seats have been reupholstered in red, white, and black vinyl, which extends to the door and side panels. Engine turned trim accents the dash, and further interior appointments include an AM radio, an analog clock, a heater, and a locking glovebox.

The three-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and is paired with a floor-mounted shifter. A horizontal 120-mph speedometer is flanked by gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature, and a Sun Super Tach has been added below the dash. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added under current ownership.

The FE V8 was overhauled under previous ownership and is said to displace 406ci. It is equipped with triple two-barrel carburetors, an aluminum intake manifold, and cast-iron headers and wears a 406 Thunderbird–branded air cleaner and valve covers. Work under current ownership reportedly involved adjusting the carburetors, lifters, and valves as well as installing an alternator in place of the removed generator, which will accompany the car.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, which was serviced under current ownership. The car is further equipped with a dual exhaust system.
