This 2001 Panoz Esperante is said to be the first example fitted with a four-speed automatic transmission that is paired with a 32-valve 4.6-liter DOHC Modular V8, and it was optioned with a carbon-fiber superstructure as well as the Leather Upgraded Interior Trim package. Additional equipment includes a limited-slip differential, 17″ BBS RX alloy wheels, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a CD stereo, cruise control, and air conditioning. The car has spent most of its time registered in Florida and was acquired by the seller in 2022. This Esperante is now offered with a digital copy of the window sticker, the owner’s manual, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.

This example was ordered with the optional carbon-fiber superstructure, and the modular extruded-aluminum chassis has bonded and bolted steel subframes. Finished in silver, the car is equipped with a power-retractable black convertible top, fender vents, a power antenna, and dual exhaust outlets. LED headlight bulbs were retrofitted in 2022.

The 17″ BBS RX alloy wheels are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact Sport Plus tires. The car is equipped with four-wheel independent suspension, and stopping power is provided by ventilated discs at each corner. Work in 2022 involved replacing control arm bushings, toe-link assemblies, and front brakes.

The bucket seats are upholstered in black leather, and the car was optioned with the Leather Upgraded Interior Trim package. Cabin amenities include a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a CD stereo, cruise control, and air conditioning. In 2022, the stereo was replaced and the shifter was repaired.

The MOMO steering wheel is trimmed in leather, and centrally mounted instrumentation consists of a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline as well as gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows 9k miles, approximately 4k of which were added under current ownership. A mileage inconsistency is noted in an August 2022 entry on the Carfax report.

The 32-valve 4.6-liter DOHC Modular V8 was factory rated at 320 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential.

A digital copy of the window sticker shows that the car was initially delivered to Lineback Enterprises in Plano, Texas, and lists a total MSRP of $90,916.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and notes the aforementioned mileage inconsistency.
