This 1963 Buick Skylark convertible has been owned in California since new, and the current owner—who acquired the car in 2015—is said to be the vehicle’s second owner. Powered by a 215ci V8 paired with a Turbine Drive automatic transmission, the car has been repainted in red with a power-operated tan convertible top over tan vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes PerTronix electronic ignition, a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor, wheel covers, whitewall tires, power steering, and lap belts. This Skylark is now offered on dealer consignment with manufacturer’s literature, spare parts, service records dating back to 2000, a set of black California license plates, and a clean California title.
Buick built 10,212 Skylark convertibles for 1963, the second year that the nameplate was a standalone model. Finished from the factory in Teal Mist (PP), this example reportedly was repainted in its current shade of red circa 2005. The power-operated tan convertible top has been replaced, and other features include a tan top boot, dual side mirrors, and chrome bumpers and trim. The windshield wipers are inoperative.
Steel wheels wear Buick-branded hubcaps and are wrapped in Hankook radial whitewall tires.
The cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in tan vinyl. Appointments include a padded dashboard, a push-button radio, front and rear lap belts, and a heater.
The two-spoke steering wheel sits ahead of a sweeping 120-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. A trio of aftermarket gauges beneath the dash monitors oil pressure, water temperature, and voltage. The five-digit odometer shows 70k miles, less than 100 of which were added under current ownership.
The 215ci V8 was factory rated at 200 horsepower and 240 lb-ft of torque and is topped by a Rochester Quadrajet four-barrel carburetor. PerTronix electronic ignition has been added. The oil was changed most recently in September 2024.
Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a Turbine Drive two-speed automatic transmission.
