This 1960 Porsche 356B 1600S Roadster was purchased by the seller’s father in 1962 from a fellow army officer in Texas as a wedding celebration present, and it was inherited by the seller in 2023. The car has been repainted red with light gray leather and is powered by a 1.6-liter flat-four paired with a four-speed manual transaxle. Features include a black soft top, 15″ steel wheels, a driver-side mirror, fog lights, body-color bumpers, and front bucket seats. This 356B Roadster is now offered with service records, spare parts, a car cover, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The T5 body was introduced for the 1960 model year with revised front-end styling, including raised bumpers and headlights along with a redesigned front trunk lid handle. This Drauz-built example came finished from the factory in Ivory (6004) and was repainted red in the mid-1980s. Features include a black soft top, a chrome driver-side mirror, fog lights with yellow lenses, a windshield washer system, a removable windshield frame, and body-color bumpers with chrome overriders. Torn weatherstripping is shown in the gallery.

The 15″ vented steel wheels wear hubcaps with color crests and are mounted with Vredestein Sprint Classic tires measuring 165HR15. The car was factory equipped with drum brakes at each corner.

The front bucket seats and rear jump seats are upholstered in light gray leather and aftermarket front lap belts have been installed.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames green-letter VDO instrumentation including a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5k-rpm redline as well as a combination gauge for oil temperature and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, the majority of which were added by the seller’s family.

The 1.6-liter 616/2 flat-four came equipped from the factory with two Zenith carburetors and was rated at 88 horsepower.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transaxle.
