This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is said to have been refurbished in 2005 with work that included repainting the fiberglass body in white, reupholstering the seats in black vinyl, overhauling the replacement 327ci V8, and overhauling the gauges, brakes, front suspension system, and clutch. Features include a four-speed manual transmission, a black convertible soft top, 15″ turbine-style wheels, a Positraction differential, power windows, an AM radio, and concealed headlights. This C2 convertible was purchased by the selling dealer in 2024 and is now offered at no reserve with a car cover and a clean Wisconsin title.
The fiberglass body was refinished in Ermine White during the refurbishment, and the car features a replacement Al Knoch black convertible soft top as well as flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance. The seller notes pitting on the chrome vent window frames.
The 15″ turbine-style wheels are mounted with 205/75 Good Year Regatta tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums. According to the seller, the front suspension and steering components were replaced, the rear trailing arms and brake system was rebuilt during the refurbishment, and the brakes were rebuilt again under current ownership.
The cabin features two bucket seats that were reupholstered in black vinyl during the refurbishment as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include a heater, an AM radio, an analog clock, power windows, and lap belts. The gauges are said to have been refurbished.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer was reset during the refurbishment and shows 5,900 miles, 250 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The replacement 327ci V8 was overhauled during the 2005 refurbishment.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and an optional Positraction differential. The transmission was rebuilt under current ownership while the clutch was replaced during the refurbishment.
