This 1963 Ford Thunderbird is one of approximately 5,913 convertibles made for the model year. Under previous ownership it was modified with a repaint in red, a lowered suspension, and a 351ci Cleveland V8. The black interior was also refreshed, and the car has a power-retractable white soft top, dual exhaust outlets, a left-side mirror, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, power windows, a swing-away steering wheel, a vintage-look radio, a MagicAire heater/defroster, and power steering. Acquired by the seller in 2023 and previously offered on BaT in August 2024, this Thunderbird is now offered at no reserve with the owner’s manual, spare parts, and a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name.
Originally black, the car was repainted red under previous ownership. It features a power-retractable white soft top, chrome-finished bumpers, a left-side mirror, fender skirts, 1963-specific door accents, and a dual exhaust system with outlets below the rear bumper. There is corrosion on the lower portions of the quarter panels. Spare weather seals are included in the sale.
The 14″ steel wheels wear spinner-style covers, and the suspension has been lowered approximately 2″. The car came equipped from the factory with power steering, and braking is provided by power-assisted drums at each corner.
The car has a power-adjustable driver’s seat, power windows, a vintage-look radio, a MagicAire heater/defroster, and a center console. The interior was refreshed in 2013, and the seller notes the air conditioning system is not connected.
The three-spoke steering wheel is mounted to a swing-away column and frames a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and a single combination gauge for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 20k miles, though the seller does not believe it is accurate, and total mileage is unknown.
A 351ci Cleveland V8 was installed under previous ownership. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission.
