This 1997 Mercedes-Benz SL500 is one of 500 examples produced to commemorate the 40th Anniversary of Mercedes-Benz SL models. All of which were finished in Crimson Metallic over Parchment Exquisite leather. Power comes from a 5.0-liter V8 paired with a five-speed automatic transmission, and features include a removable hardtop, a black soft top, 17″ Evo II six-spoke alloy wheels, fog lights, heated power-adjustable seats, a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, a remote six-disc CD changer, and automatic climate control. The car has 125k miles following registration history in California and Arizona, and it was purchased by the seller in February 2022. This R129 is now offered in Washington State at no reserve with the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Crimson Metallic (019) and features a body-color hardtop as well as a black soft top. Additional exterior details include fog lights, headlight wipers, and fender air vents. The soft-top hydraulic cylinders were replaced in March 2016.

The silver 17″ Evo II six-spoke alloy wheels show signs of curb rash and are mounted with Continental ExtremeContact tires that show date codes from 2017. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. The front struts and mounts were replaced in March 2022.

The heated power-adjustable seats are upholstered in Parchment Exquisite leather, and Chestnut wood accents the doors and center stack. Amenities include a deployable roll bar, seat position memory, a cassette stereo, a Bose sound system, a remote six-disc CD changer, a heated rear hardtop window, a removable wind deflector, cruise control, and automatic climate control. The seats show signs of wear.

The leather- and wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, a clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, fuel economy, and fuel level. The digital odometer indicates 125k miles, approximately 6k of which were added under current ownership.

The 5.0-liter M119 V8 was factory-rated at 315 horsepower and 347 lb-ft of torque. A drive belt was replaced in March 2022 and a battery in 2024. The hood pad is damaged.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic transmission. The transmission fluid was replaced in March 2022.

The Carfax report is free of accidents or other damage.
