This 1965 Alfa Romeo Giulia Spider is said to have been acquired by the seller’s father in the late 1970s. Finished in black over black upholstery, the car is powered by a replacement 1,750cc inline-four mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes dual Weber carburetors, a black convertible top, 15″ Fergat-style steel wheels, front disc brakes, and a Jensen CD stereo. This 101-Series Spider is now offered by the seller on behalf of their father with workshop manuals and a California title in the owner’s name that lists the vehicle as a 1966 model.

The 101-Series chassis was announced in 1959 as an evolution of the 750 platform and featured a lengthened wheelbase, larger rear lights, fixed side wing windows, and a stepped hood. The Pinin Farina–styled body of this example is finished in black and features a left-side mirror, chrome bumpers, and a single polished exhaust outlet. The seller notes that the car was involved in a collision in 2012, resulting in bodywork performed the front end prior to a repaint of the hood. A tear is noted on the replacement convertible top, and the seller notes the windshield wipers will require replacement and the doors will need adjustment.

Fergat-style 15” steel wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with a mixed set of 165-width Cooper Sportmaster GLT and 155/80 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. Stopping power is provided by front discs coupled with rear drums.

The low-back bucket seats have been reupholstered in black vinyl with gray cloth inserts and are accompanied by a color-coordinated upper dashboard pad, door panel inserts, and carpets. Further appointments include a Jensen CD stereo, a cabin heater, and lap belts. A metal battery box has been installed in the trunk compartment.

The three-spoke steering wheel wears a ripped aftermarket lace-up cover and fronts Veglia instrumentation consisting of a central 7k-rpm tachometer with an inset oil-pressure gauge flanked by a 120-mph speedometer and a combination gauge for fuel level, oil temperature, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles, approximately 75k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1,750cc twin-cam inline-four was reportedly installed in the early 1990s and later resealed in 2020, at which time the oil pump assembly and ignition coil were replaced. Induction is via twin Weber carburetors with individual air cleaners.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.

A pair of workshop manuals will accompany the car.
