This 1967 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is said to have been first sold in Pennsylvania before being relocated to Texas and then California, where the previous owner acquired it in 1995. A refurbishment was completed in 2018 that involved refinishing the body in red, reupholstering the interior in black leather, installing a five-speed manual transmission, and rebuilding the 327ci L79 V8 to displace 383ci. Additional equipment includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a Positraction limited-slip differential, a replacement black convertible soft top, 15″ Rally wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a cabin heater, an AM/FM radio, and retractable headlights. This C2 was acquired by the selling dealer in 2024 and is now offered with the removed Muncie transmission, two binders of service records dating from 1995, and a clean California title.
The fiberglass body left the factory finished in Rally Red (974) and was refinished following a scuff repair to one of the front fenders ahead of the wheel. Features include a replacement black convertible soft top, a domed hood, retractable headlights, chrome split bumperettes, fender vents, a driver-side mirror, and dual exhaust tips. The weatherstripping and emblems were replaced.
The 15″ Rally wheels wear replacement chrome trim rings and center caps and are mounted with 205/75 Nexen white stripe tires. The car features a fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The cabin features two bucket seats reupholstered in black leather as well as a replacement center console, carpeting, door panels, and dash pads. Amenities include a heater, a vertical push-button AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and lap belts.
The 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6k-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature were refurbished. The five-digit odometer shows 52k miles, approximately 50 of which were added under current ownership.
The 327ci L79 V8 is said to have been enlarged to 383ci and rebuilt with aftermarket cylinder heads, a Comp Cams camshaft, and roller rocker arms. Additional equipment includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a Winters intake manifold, and a Harrison radiator.
The engine stamping is shown above. The HT suffix corresponds with a 350-horsepower, 327ci L79 V8 for use with a manual transmission.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Silver Sport Transmissions five-speed manual transmission and a Positraction limited-slip differential. The removed Muncie four-speed manual transmission is included in the sale and is shown in the gallery below.
