1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport Convertible

This 1972 Pontiac LeMans Sport convertible was first delivered to Brown Pontiac of Arlington, Virginia, and it is said to have remained in the same family for 51 years before the seller acquired it in 2023. The car is refinished in red over white vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 400ci V8 linked with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a white vinyl convertible top, 14″ Rally II wheels, power steering, the Firm Ride package, power-assisted front disc brakes, body-color side mirrors, an Endura front bumper, power windows, air conditioning, and a Delco AM/FM radio. This LeMans convertible is now offered with PHS documents, recent service records, and a clean North Carolina title in the seller’s name.

The car was factory-finished in Cardinal Red and repainted approximately 20 years ago, and the trunk lid and rear quarter panels were refinished under current ownership. Equipment includes a white vinyl convertible top, body-color side mirrors, and an Endura front bumper, hood, and fender vents shared with the contemporary GTO. Steel 14″ Rally II wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires. The car is equipped with power steering and braking is handled by power-assisted disc brakes. The car came optioned with the Firm Ride Package.

The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in white vinyl. Appointments include a black dashboard and carpets, faux woodgrain trim, a center console, power windows, lap belts, air conditioning, and a Delco AM/FM radio.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a combination gauge, and an analog clock. The five-digit odometer shows 43k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added under current ownership.

The 400ci V8 is fed by a replacement four-barrel carburetor and is fitted with an Edelbrock air cleaner. The seller states that the fuel tank has also been replaced, and a rocker arm, the PCV valve, and the fuel filter were replaced under current ownership.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Turbo-Hydramatic TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Additional underside photos are shown in the gallery below.
