This 1957 MG MGA Roadster was acquired by the seller in 2017, and subsequent refurbishments included a repaint in green, overhauling the 1.5-liter inline-four, replacing the four-speed manual transmission, and refurbishing the tan interior. Additional equipment consists of 15″ wire wheels, a Mk II-specification grille, wind wings, and chrome bumpers with overriders in addition to a luggage rack, a heater, a wood veneer dashboard panel, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror. This MGA was listed by the seller on BaT in April 2023 and is offered again with an uninstalled tan soft top and side windows, spare parts, and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The seller notes that the car was repainted green in August 2022 and fitted with tan piping following rust repair and the replacement of body panels. It is equipped with a Mk II-specification grille, a driver-side mirror, wind wings, chrome bumpers with overriders, and a luggage rack with a suitcase. An uninstalled tan soft top and side windows will accompany the car. The seller notes that a non-functioning antenna was installed to cover an existing hole.

Chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels with two-eared knock-off spinners are mounted with Coker Classic whitewall tires, and a spare is stored in the trunk. Braking is provided by drums at all four corners.

The cabin features low-back bucket seats reupholstered in tan along with a color-coordinated dash pad and door cards. A wood veneer panel accents the dashboard, and appointments include a dash-mounted rearview mirror, MG-branded floor mats, a heater, a wooden shift knob, and a manually operated windshield washer pump. The carpet was replaced under current ownership.

A wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation that includes a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level, all of which were replaced during the restoration. The five-digit odometer shows 58k miles, and the total mileage is unknown.

The 1.5-liter inline-four is said to have been rebuilt as part of the refurbishment, and it is equipped with dual SU carburetors, an alloy valve cover, an alternator, and an aluminum radiator.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, which was reportedly replaced under current ownership. Corrosion is visible on underbody components.

Items that will accompany the car include a replacement windshield, chrome-plated overriders, and mirror as well as a valve cover and various seals and trim. Additional parts can be viewed in the gallery below along with photos of the car during the refurbishment.

The reproduction plate shown above lists chassis number 17741, and the sequence is listed as the VIN on the Oregon title prepended with HDR43.
