This 1974 Triumph TR6 is a red-over-black example that has been modified with a Toyota five-speed manual transmission, dual SU carburetors, Lucas PL-style headlights, and a retro-style digital stereo with Bluetooth connectivity. Powered by a 2.5-liter inline-six, the car is also equipped with chrome-plated bumpers, a black convertible top, 15″ steel wheels with polished rings, headlight stone guards, a luggage rack, and a heater. Acquired by the current owner in 2020, this TR6 is now offered on dealer consignment with an owner’s handbook, partial service records, and a clean North Carolina title.

The car is finished in red and features a black convertible top, Hella fog lights, a Raydot-style driver’s door mirror, Lucas PL-style headlights, headlight stone guards, a luggage rack, a plastic air dam, Union Jack decals, national park decals in front of the left door, and chrome bumpers with rubber overriders. A tear in the soft top has been patched with tape and can be viewed in the image gallery below along with photos showing the convertible top in the raised position.

Silver 15″ steel wheels feature polished trim rings and are mounted with 205/70 Firestone All Season tires. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes. The front suspension was overhauled in 2019, and replacement upper and lower control arms, steering rack boots, steering rack mounts, and anti-sway bar end links were installed at that time. The car is equipped with braided stainless-steel brake hoses, and the brake master cylinder and booster were recently replaced.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl, and interior appointments include a retro-style digital stereo head unit with Bluetooth connectivity as well as a locking glovebox, a wooden shift knob, Triumph-branded floor mats, and a heater.

A three-spoke steering wheel fronts a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer while gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level are mounted in the center of the dashboard. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, approximately 2,500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 2.5-liter inline-six was partially resealed and fitted with a replacement timing chain, harmonic balancer, crankshaft bearings, thrust washers, and assorted seals and gaskets when the Toyota five-speed manual transmission was installed. Dual SU carburetors, K&N air filters, and a modified distributor vacuum advance unit were also fitted, and service in 2019 included an oil change and replacing the clutch hydraulic cylinders, differential mounts, and exhaust flange gaskets.

Additional photos of the undercarriage are provided in the gallery.

An owner’s handbook and partial service records are included in the sale.
