This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible underwent refurbishment work under previous and current ownership and was refinished in blue in 2021. Additional work included overhauling the brakes, suspension, ignition, soft top, and carpeting, and the car received NCRS Second Flight recognition in 2022. The 327ci L75 V8 was rebuilt in 2016 and is paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a removable hardtop, 15″ turbine wheels, an AM/FM radio, and concealed headlights. This C2 convertible was purchased by the seller in 2020 and is now offered with service records, NCRS awards, and a clean Indiana title in the seller’s name.

The fiberglass body was factory-finished in Daytona Blue (916), and it was refinished in 1999 and again in 2021. Bodywork in 2021 included repairing stress cracks and damage to the left front corner. Features include a removable hardtop and a replacement white convertible soft top as well as flip-up headlamps, fender vents, quad tail lamps, and chrome bumperettes.

The 15″ turbine wheels and the 205/70 Diamond Back Auburn Premium tires were mounted under current ownership, and the suspension and brakes were refurbished.

The bucket seats were reupholstered in blue vinyl and replacement seat foam in 2000, and additional work under previous ownership included the replacement of the center console, dashboard, seat belts, and door panels. The carpeting and the armrest cover were replaced in June 2021. Amenities include a heater, an AM/FM radio, and an analog clock.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, amperage, and fuel level. The instrument cluster is said to have been refurbished in 2010. The five-digit odometer shows 49k miles, approximately 5k of which were added under current ownership.

The 327ci L75 V8 was rated at 300 horsepower when new, and it was rebuilt in 2016. Additional work has included rebuilding the carburetor, installing a PerTronix distributor, and replacing the radiator, belts, hoses, alternator, voltage regulator, spark plug wires, battery, and fuel tank and sender.

The engine stamping includes sequence 4116311, which matches the last six digits of the vehicle’s serial number. The RD suffix corresponds with a 300-horsepower, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch assembly is said to have been replaced in 2016.

Decoding the trim tag reveals:

  • Style 867 – 1964 Corvette convertible
  • Body A-791 A.O. Smith body number
  • Trim 490K – Blue vinyl upholstery
  • Paint 916 – Daytona Blue

The NCRS Shipping Data Report shows initial delivery to Coggin Chevrolet of Nashville, Tennessee, and an official production date of April 23, 1964. An NCRS Second Flight Award was earned in April 2022 at the NCRS Indiana Regional.
