1965 Ford Falcon Futura Convertible

This 1965 Ford Falcon Futura convertible was initially sold by Barber Ford in Ventura, California, and is said to have remained with its first owner until 2023 when it was acquired by the current owner. Subsequent work involved refreshing the interior, installing front disc brakes, and re-chroming the bumpers. Power is provided by a 289ci V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car is finished in gold over a coordinated interior and equipped with a white soft top, Styled 14″ wheels, vent windows, a center console, and front bucket seats. This Falcon Futura convertible is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner with the owner’s manual and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The car is finished in gold with white side accents and is equipped with a replacement white soft top. The bumpers were re-chromed and the front grille and exterior badging were replaced following the owner’s acquisition. Blemishes are depicted in the gallery below.

Styled 14″ wheels are mounted with 195/75 Nexen tires. The seller notes that work since 2023 included rebuilding the front end, replacing rear bushings, and installing adjustable shocks up front as well as a Wilwood master cylinder and front disc brakes.

The cabin was refreshed under current ownership with replacement gold vinyl upholstery on the front bucket seats and a rear bench in addition to a replacement dash pad, door panels, carpets, and seals. The seller notes that the heater box and window regulators were also replaced. Appointments include a center console, seatbelts, and front vent windows. The AM radio does not work.

The two-spoke steering wheel features a horn ring and frames a horizontal 120-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 25k miles, approximately 200 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 289ci Challenger V8 was factory rated at 200 horsepower. Service since 2023 has involved adjusting the valves and replacing the battery as well as various belts, hoses, and gaskets.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Cruise-O-Matic three-speed dual-range automatic transmission and a rear axle with 2.80:1 gears.
