This 1963 Chevrolet Corvette convertible underwent a body-off refurbishment in the mid-2000s that involved a repaint and an interior retrim along with installation of a replacement 327ci V8. It is finished in metallic blue with a tan convertible soft top and features flip-up headlamps, quad tail lamps, fender vents, and chrome bumperettes. Inside, the tan leather-trimmed seats are accompanied by a Delco AM/FM radio and power windows. Shifting is through a four-speed manual transmission, and further equipment includes 15″ turbine-style wheels, Wilwood front disc brakes, and a stainless-steel dual exhaust system with an X-pipe. The car was first acquired as a rolling chassis by the current owner in 2013 and sold following the refurbishment before being reacquired in 2023. Work carried out in 2024 involved resealing the transmission and resurfacing the flywheel in addition to replacing the clutch assembly and the valve cover gaskets. This C2 convertible is now offered in Oakland, California, on dealer consignment with refurbishment records, a recent service invoice, and a clean California title.

The fiberglass body was originally finished in Daytona Blue and was repainted in its current metallic blue finish as part of the aforementioned refurbishment, which was performed by Willy O’Hara in San Jose, California. Exterior details include flip-up headlamps and quad tail lamps along with fender vents, chrome bumperettes, and dual exhaust tips that exit through the rear valance. A replacement tan convertible soft top has been added, and the selling dealer notes that there are holes in the rear decklid for a removable hardtop.

The 15″ turbine-style wheels wear faux knock-off spinners and are mounted with 215/70 Cooper Cobra Radial G/T tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Wilwood disc brakes have been added up front, while drums are retained out back. The pitman arm seal was replaced in April 2024, at which time the brake fluid was flushed.

The refurbished cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in tan leather as well as a color-coordinated dash, door panels, and carpets. Amenities include a Delco AM/FM radio, an analog clock, a heater, power windows, and lap belts. The left-side window motor was replaced in 2024.

A split-spoke steering wheel frames replacement gauges including a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline as well as readouts for amperage, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 99k miles, approximately 4k of which have been added under current ownership. True mileage is unknown.

The replacement 327ci is said to have been sourced from a later model C2 Corvette. The car has also been fitted with a stainless-steel dual exhaust system featuring an X-pipe. Replacement valve cover gaskets were installed and the fluids were changed in April 2024, and the service invoice is provided in the image gallery below.

The engine stamping is shown above.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Service carried out in April 2024 involved resealing the transmission, installing a replacement clutch, and resurfacing the flywheel. The clutch pedal linkage was also repaired.
