This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible is finished in a custom-mixed metallic maroon and has been fitted with fender flares, side pipes, 15″ American Racing wheels, power steering, and Ride Tech shocks. It is powered by a 327ci L76 V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and equipped with a Positraction differential, a black convertible top, an AM/FM radio, and retractable headlights. The seller purchased the car in 2017 and it is now offered with service records and a clean New Jersey title in the seller’s name.
Originally Tuxedo Black, the car was fitted with fender flares and repainted in metallic maroon in 2006. Previously installed third taillights were also deleted at that time. The car is equipped with a black convertible top, and a tear in the fabric has been repaired and sealed. Close-up photos of the paintwork, including cracks in the paint on the hood, are provided in the gallery.
Staggered-width 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires manufactured in 2017 and 2018. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, and this one has been fitted with power steering, Ride Tech front coilovers, Ride Tech rear shocks, and a composite rear leaf spring. Braking is handled by four-wheel drums.
The cabin features silver leather bucket seats as well as black carpets and trim. The seats were re-covered in 2000 and service in 2015 included converting the clock to a quartz movement and replacing the seatbelts and headlight switch. The seller notes that interior work in 2020 included installing soundproofing, replacing the carpets, and refurbishing the dashboard and console.
The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows around 7,400 miles and has rolled over. The seller has driven the car approximately 10k miles and notes that the gauges were rebuilt in 2020. Total mileage is unknown.
The 327ci L76 V8 had a factory-rated output of 365 horsepower and has since been fitted with a Quickfuel Black Diamond carburetor, an Edelbrock intake manifold, Hooker headers, and side pipes. The removed factory carburetor has a broken mounting flange and is included in the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission and an optional Positraction differential.
