This 1959 Mercedes-Benz 190SL is a black-over-red example that was refurbished the early 2000s and purchased out of Arizona by the current owner in 2022. It is powered by a 1.9-liter inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional features include a removable hardtop, 13″ steel wheels with body-color hubcaps, a Becker Europa AM/FM radio, and chrome exterior trim. This 190SL is now offered on dealer consignment with a copy of the data card, clean Tennessee title.

The car received a driver-quality repaint in black during the refurbishment in the early 2000s, and the selling dealer notes the presence of orange peel in the finish. The side mirrors have been removed. Exterior details include a removable large-window hardtop and a bright windshield surround, grille, and bumpers. Blemishes are shown up close in the image gallery below.

Steel 13″ wheels wear chrome trim rings, hubcaps with body-color accents, and 185/80 BFGoodrich Silvertown Radial tires. The car is equipped with a double-wishbone front suspension, rear swing axles with coil springs, and power-assisted drum brakes. The brake booster has been connected, and the selling dealer notes that the pedal feel is spongy.

The cabin features low-back bucket seats that were reupholstered in red leather during the aforementioned refurbishment as well as matching door panels and dashboard trim. Amenities include a Becker Europa AM/FM radio, an analog clock, and a dashboard-mounted rearview mirror. Sun fading is noted on the upholstery.

The two-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 210-km/h speedometer and a 7k-rpm tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, water temperature, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 75k kilometers (~47k miles), approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.9-liter M121 inline-four was factory rated at 104 horsepower and 105 lb-ft of torque. Work in 2022 is said to have included installing Weber carburetors as well as replacing the radiator, generator, and an engine mount. The following year, the water pump, starter, fuel tank, fuel pump, timing chain and tensioner, valve cover gasket, and oil pan gasket were replaced according to the selling dealer.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a fully synchronized four-speed manual transmission.
