This 1991 Mazda MX-5 Miata was acquired by the seller in 2021 in stock configuration, and it has since been turbocharged and fitted with Safari-style modifications. The 1.6-liter inline-four was resealed and fitted with a Flyin’ Miata 50-state-legal turbo kit along with their Stage 2 clutch and stainless-steel exhaust system, and Paco Motorsports rally coilover suspension was installed along with a CarbonMiata trunklid and fenders, Rota wheels, rally tires, Wilwood brakes, Hella fog lights, and a Zerek Fabrication roll bar. The occupants are secured in Sparco seats and harnesses, and the driver is equipped with a Sparco steering wheel and an IRP long-handle shifter. Driven 2,500 miles since completion and now showing 176k miles, this modified Miata is now offered with a California title in the seller’s name.

The white exterior has been modified with a CarbonMiata trunklid and fenders, a cut rear bumper cover, a vented hood, Hella fog lights, a front lip spoiler, and a hand-painted livery. The seller notes the soft top was installed in 2023.

The car rides on a Paco Motorsports rally coilover suspension kit and zero-offset 15″ Rota wheels finished in bronze and mounted with Maxxis Victra R19 rally tires. A Wilwood big-brake kit was fitted up front along with braided stainless-steel hoses, and the power steering system was removed.

A Zerek Fabrication roll bar was installed along with Sparco seats and harnesses for both occupants. The door panels were replaced with LRB Speed aluminum components, and the air conditioning components were removed.

The Sparco steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. Custom switchgear is mounted head of the IRP long-handle shifter. The seller has added approximately 2,500 of the 176k miles shown.

The seller states that the 1.6-liter inline four was resealed in 2021, and in 2022 it fitted with a Flyin’ Miata turbo kit and Stage 2 clutch as well as a replacement rear main seal. The Misimoto radiator was flushed at the same time. There is corrosion near the brake booster.

The seller states the catalytic converter was replaced and Flyin’ Miata stainless-steel exhaust system was fitted in 2022 as well. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in October 2023.

Car was featured in a 2024 issue of the Japanese magazine Daytona.

The Carfax report denotes that a rebuilt title was issued by the state of California starting in 2005. The current title carries a Salvaged brand.
