This 1953 Cadillac Series 62 is one of 8,367 convertible examples produced for the model year and underwent a refurbishment in the late 1990s before being acquired by actor and comedian Brad Garrett in 1999. The car was subsequently fitted with a 350ci ZZ4 V8 crate engine and a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission in 2004. It is finished in green with a power-operated green convertible soft top over two-tone green leather upholstery and wears 15″ steel wheels with bright covers and whitewall tires. Further equipment includes a push-button AM radio, an Autronic Eye, electric windows, power seat adjustment settings, and a dual exhaust system. Acquired by the selling dealer in 2024, this Series 62 convertible is now offered in Las Vegas, Nevada, with an owner’s manual and a clean California title.
The car came finished from the factory in Gloss Green (13), in which it is said to have been repainted as part of the aforementioned 1990s refurbishment. It wears a power-operated green convertible soft top paired with a matching top boot and an egg-crate grille, a driver-side mirror, a one-piece windshield, vertical tailfins, stone guards, gold badging, and a fuel filler concealed under the left taillight are further details. The spotlights do not work.
The 15″ steel wheels wear bright covers and are mounted with BFGoodrich whitewall tires measuring 235/75. The car came equipped from the factory with power steering, and braking is handled by drums at each corner.
The refurbished cabin houses dual bench seats upholstered in two-tone green leather accompanied by lap belts for four occupants. Additional appointments include an Autronic Eye headlight dimmer, a push-button AM radio, an analog clock, a cabin heater, power seat adjustment settings, and electric windows.
The two-spoke steering wheel features a chrome horn ring and fronts a 110-mph speedometer and gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 87k miles, and total mileage is unknown.
The 350ci ZZ4 V8 crate engine has been repainted blue and fitted with Cadillac-branded valve covers. The electrical system has been converted to 12-volt operation, and the car is equipped with a dual exhaust system.
Power is routed to the rear wheels through a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission.
