This 1951 MG TD has been repainted metallic green over green vinyl and is powered by a 1,250cc XPAG inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a tan soft top, 15″ silver-finished steel wheels, a louvered hood, chrome bumpers, and a folding windshield. The car was acquired by the seller in 2022, and work is said to have since involved installing Pertronix electronic ignition and replacing the clutch, wheel cylinders, brake shoes, spark plug wires, and brake master cylinder. This TD is now offered no reserve with a black tonneau cover and an Ohio title in the seller’s name.
The car was refinished in metallic green some time ago, and features include a tan folding soft top, a louvered hood, a folding windshield, running boards, wind wings, and chrome bumpers with overriders. Areas of cracked paint are present around the body and shown in the gallery.
The 15″ silver-finished steel wheels wear polished hubcaps and are mounted with 550-15 Dunlap tires. A spare wheel and tire are affixed to the rear. Braking is handled by drums at each corner. The brake master cylinder, wheel cylinders, and brake shoes were reportedly replaced under current ownership.
The cabin houses a split bench seat trimmed in green vinyl, and amenities include map pockets and a dash-mounted rearview mirror.
The banjo-style steering wheel is mounted on an adjustable column and frames Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 100-mph speedometer and a tachometer with an inset clock as well as gauges for amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 17k miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1,250cc XPAG inline-four is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 54 horsepower. Pertronix ignition was added and the spark plug wires were replaced under current ownership. There is an oil leak.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. A replacement clutch was reportedly installed since the seller’s acquisition.
The car is titled using engine number XPAGTDLHX3404 shown on the data plate above, which describes the car as a left-hand-drive TD model produced for the North American market.
The Ohio title lists “Exceeds Mechanical Limits” under the Mileage Notation section.
