This 1968 Ford Mustang convertible was acquired by the seller in 2003, and has since been modified and refurbished. The car has been fitted with Shelby-style bodywork and repainted silver with black stripes, the suspension and steering system were upgraded, and a 5.0-liter V8 with a roller camshaft and a Holley carburetor were installed along with an AOD transmission and limited-slip differential. The car rides on 18″ Coys alloy wheels and also has front disc brakes, a black soft top, a Shelby-style roll bar, Cougar tail lights, air conditioning, cruise control, and a Bluetooth-capable stereo. This Mustang convertible is now offered with a car cover, and a clean Florida title in the seller’s name.
The car was modified with rolled fenders, a Shelby-style fiberglass good secured by pins, a fiberglass front spoiler, a fiberglass trunk lid with an integrated spoiler, and side scoops before it was repainted silver with metallic black stripes. A roll bar, which was sourced from a 1968 Shelby according to the seller, was also installed along with Cougar sequential tail lights, remote-controlled under-car lighting, and color-keyed mirrors. The power antenna does not work, and the black soft top has a glass back window.
The 18″ Coys wheels have stainless-steel discs mounted behind them. Heavy-duty springs and torsion bars were installed along with frame connectors. The car also has power steering and power-assisted front disc brakes.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in black vinyl as well as air conditioning, and cruise control, powered back windows, and a Bluetooth-capable stereo have been installed.
The wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and amperage. A tachometer is mounted ahead of the shifter. The five-digit odometer shows 65k miles, though the seller states it is not accurate and total mileage is unknown. Approximately 20k miles were added under current ownership.
The 5.0-liter V8 was installed in 2009. It has a roller camshaft, an air-gap intake manifold, and a Holley carburetor. An aluminum radiator was also installed.
The seller states the AOD transmission was modified with a shift kit, and it is linked to a limited-slip differential with 3.01 gears. The gas tank was replaced, and the dual exhaust system has glasspacks.
