This 1965 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was first purchased on February 17, 1965, at Ed Newman Chevrolet of Allentown, Pennsylvania. A subsequent owner purchased the car in 1970 and retained it through the late 2000s, and it received a Bloomington Gold Survivor certificate in June 1991. The car is finished in Rally Red over black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 327ci L76 V8 paired with a Muncie M20 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes a 4.11:1 Positraction differential, a removable hardtop, a black convertible soft top, 15″ steel wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a side-exit exhaust system, and retractable headlights. This C2 was purchased by the seller in 2023 and is now offered with a Protect-O-Plate, the owner’s manual, and a clean Nevada title in the seller’s name.

The fiberglass body is finished in Rally Red (UU), and features include a body-color removable hardtop, a black convertible soft top, flip-up headlights, chrome bumpers, fender vents, a driver-side mirror, a side-exit exhaust system, and a retractable antenna.

The 15″ steel wheels feature faux-knock-off covers and are mounted with Firestone tires measuring 7.75-15. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. There is no radio and the clock does not work.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 48k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership.

The 327ci L76 V8 was equipped from the factory with a single four-barrel carburetor for a factory rating of 365 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque.

The engine stamping is shown above. The HH suffix corresponds with a 365-horsepower, solid-lifter, 327ci V8 for use with a manual transmission.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a Muncie M20 close-ratio four-speed manual transmission and a 4.11:1 Positraction differential.

Decoding the trim tag reveals:

  • Style 65 467 – 1965 Corvette
  • Body A-2697 – A.O. Smith body number
  • Trim STD – Black vinyl upholstery
  • Paint UU – Rally Red

An original sale’s invoice, a Protect-o-Plate, an owner’s manual, a copy of a 1970-dated title, and a June 1991-dated Bloomington Gold Survivor Certificate of Preservation are included in the sale.
