The SSR was built on a modified version of the GMT360 platform shared with the contemporary TrailBlazer SUV, and its styling was inspired by the Chevrolet Advance Design family of trucks. The twin heated and power-adjustable high-back bucket seats are upholstered in Ebony leather. Body-color wraparound trim accents the cabin, while satin chrome trim adorns the dash, center console, and door panels. Amenities include a color-keyed waterfall console as well as driver-seat memory settings, a Bose sound system, air conditioning, a wind deflector, and cruise control. The car is equipped with a CD stereo, but the CD player does not work.
The leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel frames SSR-branded instrumentation including a 140-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for fuel level, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The digital odometer shows 44k miles, approximately 1k of which were added under current ownership. A mileage inconsistency is listed in a June 2021 entry of the Carfax report. The seller notes that the oil pressure gauge needs repair.
The 5.3-liter Vortec 5300 V8 was factory rated at 300 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque. The battery was replaced, and an oil change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed automatic transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential. There is a black spot on a muffler.
