This 1966 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was reportedly campaigned as an A-Production class race car in the 1970s, and it underwent a refurbishment following the seller’s 1992 acquisition. Finished in orange, the car is powered by a 427ci V8 linked with a four-speed manual transmission and equipped with an aluminum radiator, Hooker headers, side-exit exhaust pipes, and aluminum valve covers. The car rides on adjustable Koni shocks and 15″ American Racing wheels with Avon tires that are mounted over four-wheel disc brakes, and exterior details consist of a curved windshield, a domed hood, fender vents, and driving lights. The soft top, bumpers, and windows have been removed, and the cabin is outfitted with fixed-back bucket seats, latch-and-link harnesses, a Hurst shifter, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, and a custom center stack with Stewart-Warner instrumentation and auxiliary switchgear. This C2 race car is offered with a log book and a clean Oregon title in the seller’s name.

The fiberglass body was delivered from the factory in Ermine White (972), and repairs are said to have been performed before it was repainted in orange during the 1993 refurbishment. The bumpers, side mirrors, and windows are removed, and exterior details include a domed hood with retainer pins along with fender vents, a cowl-mounted electrical shutoff, driving lights, and a curved plexiglass windshield with 04 decals.

American Racing 15″ wheels feature gray centers and polished lips, and they are mounted with 295/50 Avon tires. The car rides on Koni adjustable shocks and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.

The replacement fixed-back bucket seats are trimmed in black upholstery and fitted with latch-and-link harnesses. Black door panels were installed along with mounting hardware for a roll bar, and further details include a Hurst Indy shifter, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a push-button starter, a custom center stack, and switchgear for lighting, ignition, and auxiliary functions.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, amperage, and water temperature. Stewart-Warner readouts for oil pressure and temperature are mounted on the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 15k miles, which is said to represent the mileage accumulated since the completion of the build. Total mileage is unknown.

The 427ci V8 was installed in 1993 and is equipped with a four-barrel carburetor, an aluminum radiator, and aluminum valve covers. Hooker headers flow to a side-outlet exhaust system.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

  • Style 66 467 – 1966 Corvette convertible
  • Body A – 1786 – A.O. Smith body number
