This 1990 Alfa Romeo Spider Veloce is finished in white over black leather and is powered by a 2.0L twin-cam inline-four paired with a five-speed manual transmission. Purchased by the seller’s brother in California in 1994, the car is equipped with a limited-slip differential, 14″ Campagnolo Daytona alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, a black convertible soft top, a rear spoiler, leather bucket seats, power windows, air conditioning, and a factory cassette stereo. The car was taken off the road for brake work under previous ownership in 2000. During the brake repairs, the car was further disassembled and remained stored until it was acquired by the seller in 2019. Refurbishment work under current ownership consisted of reassembling the car with a replacement thermostat, alternator, differential reaction triangle, clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder, as well as the fuel level sending unit, fuel pump and filter, reinstalling the evaporative emissions system, and assorted fuel, braking, and suspension components. This S3 Spider Veloce shows 69k miles and is now offered with refurbishment records, a tool kit, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The Pininfarina-designed body is finished in Bianco Freddo (230) and features a black convertible soft top, a front air dam, power-operated side mirrors, and a rear spoiler. The door lock cylinders and seals were replaced as part of the refurbishment in 2022. There are dings in the rear quarter panels.
The 14″ Campagnolo Daytona alloy wheels are mounted with older 185/70 Pirelli P4000 tires. During the reassembly of the car by B. Metras Company of San Rafael, California, the brake master cylinder, brake lines and hoses, calipers, rotors, pads, and hand brake cable were replaced. A used rear anti-sway bar was also installed along with a replacement driveshaft, left spindle, hub, castor arm, A-arm, spring bucket, anti-sway bar links, and front wheel bearings.
The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in black leather with red stitching, black dash, and color matching center console, door panels, and carpet. Amenities include a factory cassette stereo, power windows, vent windows, replacement floor mats, and a digital clock. In 2022 the shift knob, inner and outer shift boots, top straps, and cables for the trunk release and fuel door were replaced. Additional work included repairing the wiring for the left window, installing missing interior panel hardware, disconnecting the cassette stereo head unit, and removing the alarm system wiring, antenna, and rear speakers. The carpet in the driver’s footwell is worn, and the air conditioning does not blow cold.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer as well as gauges for oil pressure, voltage, fuel level, and coolant temperature. The six-digit odometer shows 69k miles, approximately 500 miles of which were added under current ownership.
The 2.0-liter DOHC inline-four features Bosch Motronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 120 horsepower and 117 lb-ft of torque. Work performed in 2022 consisted of an oil change, reinstalling the evaporative emissions system, and replacing the alternator, thermostat, air filter, accessory drive belt, battery, and spark plugs as well as the fuel level sending unit, filter, primary and secondary pumps, and hoses. The car most recently passed a California emissions test in September 2022.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. A used differential reaction triangle was installed with polyurethane bushings and the clutch master cylinder and hydraulic hose were replaced in 2022.
