This Porsche 356 Speedster replica was assembled by Vintage Motorcars of Hawaiian Gardens, California, and was acquired new by the seller in 2021. Finished in silver over red upholstery, the car is powered by an air-cooled 2,332cc flat-four linked with a “Freeway Flyer” four-speed manual transaxle. It is equipped with a removable black soft top, dual Kadron-style carburetors, disc brakes, 15″ alloy wheels, a banjo-style steering wheel, a Vintage Speed shifter, low-back bucket seats, and Coco floor mats. This 356 Speedster replica is offered with a clean Minnesota title in the seller’s name listing the car as a 1967 Volkswagen.
The fiberglass bodywork is finished in silver and is fitted over a modified Volkswagen Beetle chassis. Exterior details include a black removable soft top and top boot, a left-side mirror, a single-grille decklid, teardrop taillights, gold-finished Porsche, Speedster, and 1600 Super badging, and body-color bumpers with rub strips.
Aluminum 15″ Vintage 190 wheels wear chrome hubcaps and are mounted with 195/65 Blackhawk Street-H tires. The suspension features Koni classic shocks, a front sway bar, and a rear camber compensator. Braking is handled by four-wheel discs.
The low-back bucket seats are trimmed in red upholstery that extends to the upper dashboard, rear parcel shelf, and door panels. Appointments include a Vintage Speed shifter, a height-adjustable rearview mirror, a chrome-finished passenger grab handle, and Coco floor mats.
The banjo-style steering wheel wears a Porsche-crest horn button and frames a central tachometer flanked by a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for engine temperature and fuel level. The digital odometer shows 1,800 miles. The fuel level sending unit and turn signal flasher relay were replaced under current ownership.
The air-cooled 2,332cc flat-four features an 84mm crankshaft, 94mm pistons and cylinders, a full-flow oiling system, and dual Kadron-style carburetors. The most recent oil change was performed in the fall of 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a “Freeway Flyer” four-speed manual transaxle.
