This 1968 Pontiac LeMans is a black-over-black convertible that is powered by a 350ci V8 paired with a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. The car was acquired by the seller in 2023 and added to their collection, with subsequent work involving a repaint of the exterior as well as the installation of a replacement black soft top, a rear spoiler, a GTO-style hood, and a Endura front bumper and grill. Additional equipment includes 15″ alloy wheels, power-assisted four-wheel drum brakes, aftermarket gauges, Flowmaster mufflers, and turn-down exhaust finishers. This LeMans convertible is now offered with a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car left the factory finished in Mayfair Maize, and it was fitted with a GTO-style hood and Endura front bumper before being refinished in black in February 2024. Additional work at that time included installing a rear spoiler and replacing the weatherstripping and black soft top. The seller notes that the wheel lips and rocker moldings have also been replaced.

Five-spoke 15″ wheels are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. Braking is provided by power-assisted drum brakes.

The seating surfaces are upholstered in black black vinyl, and the front bench features power adjustment. The radio is removed, and close-up photos of the condition of the cabin are provided in the gallery.

The three-spoke steering wheel is cracked and frames a 120-mph speedometer and supplementary displays. Auxiliary readouts for temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are mounted below the dashboard. The odometer shows just under 100k miles, approximately 1k of which were added during current ownership.

The 350ci V8 was factory rated at 265 horsepower with a two-barrel carburetor equipped. The dual exhaust system is fitted with Flowmaster mufflers and turn-downs ahead of the rear axle. The battery was replaced and an oil change was performed in June 2024.

Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a TH400 three-speed automatic transmission. Corrosion is noted on underbody components.

The cowl tag decodes as follows:

  • 09D – Fourth week of September production
  • 68 23767 – 1968 Pontiac LeMans convertible
  • BAL00029 – Baltimore assembly plant; body number
  • TR 223 – Black vinyl upholstery
  • Paint Y2 – Mayfair Maize with a black soft top
