This 1980 MG MGB is a green-over-tan roadster that remained with its original owner until May 2023 and was subsequently acquired by the seller on BaT in October 2023. It is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four linked to a four-speed manual transmission and is equipped with a replacement black soft top, 14″ Minator wheels, a heater, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a push-button AM/FM stereo. The tires, seat foams, and front suspension components were replaced in 2023 at which time the Zenith-Stromberg carburetor and the power-assisted brakes were overhauled. This MGB is now offered with a clean Pennsylvania title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in green, and a replacement Robbins black soft top was installed under previous ownership. A black top boot will accompany the car. Paint imperfections are visible in front of the trunk badge and the antenna is missing.

Minator 14” wheels are mounted with 165-series Michelin XAS tires that have 2022 production date codes. A Rostyle spare wheel fitted with a Michelin XZX tire is stored in the trunk. Stopping power is provided by power-assisted front disc and rear drum brakes. The lower control arm bushings were reportedly replaced along with the brake rotors, pads, drums, and hoses in 2023, and the brake fluid was flushed at that time.

The cockpit features bucket seats upholstered in patterned tan vinyl in addition to wood veneer dashboard trim. Interior amenities include a padded center armrest, a heater and defroster, a wood MG-branded shift knob, and a push-button radio linked with Kenwood door speakers. The seat cushions and webbing are said to have been replaced.

The three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel sits ahead of an 85-mph speedometer, a tachometer, a quartz clock, and supplemental gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 18k miles, approximately 500 of which were added under current ownership.

The 1.8L B-series inline-four is equipped with a single Zenith-Stromberg carburetor. Service in May 2023 included changing the oil and coolant, rebuilding the carburetor, flushing the fuel tank, and replacing the fuel filter, fuel sending unit, belts, hoses, thermostat, washer pump, distributor cap and rotor, spark plugs, ignition wires. The fuel pump was replaced in October 2023.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
