This 1964 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was acquired by the seller in 2010 and refurbished in 2012 by Precision Motive in Hayward, California. The replacement 327ci V8 was rebuilt in 2010 along with the four-speed manual transmission, while the fiberglass body underwent repairs prior to a color change to black in the mid-2010s. The car features a black convertible soft top, a big-block hood, and side-exit exhaust pipes along with Bilstein shocks, front disc brakes, and 15″ American Racing wheels. Inside, the black leather–trimmed bucket seats are accompanied by a woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel, a Hurst shifter, and a retrofitted air conditioning system. Recent work is said to have involved adding an Edelbrock carburetor along with a replacement fuel pump, mechanical fan, spark plugs, and ignition wires. This C2 convertible is now offered in Hayesville, North Carolina, with a car cover, spare parts, service records, and a Georgia title.

The fiberglass body was originally finished in Medium Blue (912) and underwent repairs before a repaint in black by Metal Asylum of Chandler, Arizona, in the mid-2010s. A big-block hood hood was added at the time of the bodywork along with replacement front bumperettes, taillights, and turn signals. A black convertible soft top is installed and a replacement soft top is included in the sale. Further details include concealed headlamps, fender vents, and side-exit exhaust pipes. The chrome front soft-top clamp was replaced in preparation for the sale. The seller notes difficulty operating the left headlight and recommends refinishing the decklid.

Polished 15″ American Racing wheels are mounted with 205/6 Bridgestone Insignia SL tires. The C2 was the first Corvette to offer fully independent suspension, with upper and lower control arms at the front and a three-link setup with a transverse leaf spring at the rear. Bilstein shocks have been added along with fiberglass mono-leaf springs. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.

The cabin features two bucket seats upholstered in black leather. The glovebox, door panels, and various interior trim pieces are replacement units. Aftermarket fiberglass floor pans have been installed along with sound deadening material and replacement carpets. A vertical digital media receiver and aftermarket speakers have been added, though the radio antenna is not hooked up. Plugs have been installed in the dash in place of a previously removed aftermarket stereo, and the retrofitted air conditioning system was recently recharged. The dash pad is cracked and the quartz clock is disconnected.

The woodgrain-rimmed steering wheel is paired with a Hurst T-handle shifter. Instrumentation consists of a tachometer with a 5,300-rpm redline accompanied by a 160-mph speedometer and auxiliary readouts. The five-digit odometer shows 2,500 miles, approximately 1,500 of which have been added under current ownership. The gauges were previously refurbished, though the tachometer is not functioning. A replacement tachometer cable is included in the sale. true mileage is unknown.

The replacement 327ci V8 was reportedly rebuilt and fitted with a COMP Cams L79+ camshaft by MaxFlow Motorsports of New Market, Virginia, in 2010. According to the seller, work in preparation for the sale involved adding an Edelbrock Performer carburetor as well as replacing the fuel pump, starter, mechanical fan, thermostat, spark plugs, and ignition wires.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission, which is said to have been rebuilt in 2010. A replacement clutch assembly was also installed at that time, according to the seller.

Decoding the trim tag reveals:

  • E13 – May 13 assembly date
  • Style 867 – 1964 Corvette convertible
  • Body A-1501 – A.O. Smith body number
  • Trim 490K – Vinyl upholstery
  • Paint 912A – Medium Blue paint

Service records that reportedly total over $50k will accompany the car along with a collection of spare parts that includes a replacement soft top, the removed mechanical clock, aftermarket speakers, and other parts and components that can be viewed in the gallery.

The current Georgia title includes the note “this is a replacement certificate and may be subject to the rights of a person under the original certificate.”
