This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL is finished in Classic White over Palomino MB-Tex and is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes a removable body-color hardtop, a brown soft top, four-wheel disc brakes, chrome-plated 16″ alloy wheels, fog lights, automatic climate control, power windows, and a JVC stereo. The seller purchased the car in 2021 and subsequent work reportedly included servicing the engine and brakes, flushing the fuel and power steering systems, and replacing the battery, spark plugs, and exhaust. This R107 shows 139k miles and is offered at no reserve with service records and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The car was refinished under previous ownership in Classic White and features a color-matched removable hardtop and a brown soft top. Additional features include quad headlights, fog lights, and chrome-accented bumpers and trim. The power-retractable antenna is missing, and close-up photos presented in the gallery show blemishes in the paint around the car.

Chrome-plated 16″ alloy wheels are mounted with 215/55 Victorun VR906 tires. The car was factory-equipped with power steering and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes. The front and rear brake hoses were replaced in November 2023. Oxidation is visible on the wheels and the gold Mercedes-Benz emblem on the left front wheel is broken.

The bucket seats are upholstered in Palomino MB-Tex. Woodgrain trim accents the dashboard and center console, and additional appointments include automatic climate control, power windows, and a JVC stereo linked to JVC speakers that are installed on the rear parcel shelf. The driver window regulator was replaced under current ownership. Wear is visible on the soft top boot upholstery.

The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 139k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.

The 4.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque and features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection. Work under current ownership is said to have included cleaning the fuel tank, flushing the fuel and power steering systems, and replacing the timing chain and guides as well as the battery, spark plugs, and exhaust system. The power-steering system leaks fluid.

Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
