This 1970 Oldsmobile 442 convertible is powered by a 455ci Rocket V8 that was rebuilt in 2009, and it is linked with a three-speed automatic transmission and a limited-slip differential with a W27 cover. The car was refinished in red with black stripes under prior ownership, and further details include a power-operated black soft top, 15″ Super Stock I-style wheels, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, and a dual exhaust system with Dynomax mufflers and trumpet-style finishers. The cabin is trimmed in black vinyl upholstery and fitted with air conditioning, a Custom Sport steering wheel, Dakota Digital gauges, and an Alpine head unit. This 442 is now offered with service records and a Nevada title in the seller’s name.
The car left the factory finished in Matador Red (75) and it is said to have been repainted in the 2000s. Details include a power-operated black soft top and matching stripes accenting the hood and bodysides as well as quad headlights, chrome bumpers, dual side mirrors, 442 badging, and dual exhaust outlets with trumpet-style finishers. Photos of the soft top in the raised position can be seen in the gallery along with video of the top in operation.
The 15″ Super Stock I-style wheels feature body-color centers and are mounted with BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. The car is equipped with power steering, and a Wilwood four-wheel disc brake system was installed in 2009.
The bench seats are upholstered in black vinyl, and woodgrain trim accents the dashboard and doors. The front seat cover and carpets are said to have been recently replaced, and interior appointments consist of an Alpine head unit and an air conditioning system that has been converted to utilize R134a refrigerant.
The Custom Sport steering wheel fronts Dakota Digital instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and supplementary readouts. The five-digit odometer shows 1,700 miles. Total mileage is unknown.
The 455ci Rocket V8 was rebuilt in 2009, which included resurfacing the block and cylinder heads and replacing the rod, main, and camshaft bearings along with the pistons, camshaft, valves, valve springs, and connecting rods.
