This 1954 MG TF is a left-hand-drive example that was acquired by the seller in 2019, reportedly following approximately four decades of storage, and it subsequently underwent a cosmetic refurbishment. Work included a repaint in black, a reupholstered tan interior, and replacement of the soft top and tires. It is powered by a 1,250cc XPAG inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission, and equipment includes 15″ wire wheels, chrome bumpers, running boards, rear-hinged doors, fender-mounted mirrors, driving lights, lap belts, side curtains, a tonneau cover, and a folding windshield. This TF is now offered with a car cover, a tool kit, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.
The car came finished from the factory in black and was repainted and fitted with a tan replacement soft top in 2020. Additional features include chrome bumpers as well as running boards, rear-hinged doors, fender-mounted mirrors, driving lights, side curtains, a tonneau cover, and a folding windshield. The driving lights are not hooked up.
The 15″ wire wheels with knock-off hubs were mounted with 165/80 Caldera tires in 2020, and a spare is affixed to the rear. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums.
The cabin features low-back bucket seats that were re-trimmed in Biscuit leather during the refurbishment, along with replacement door panels and black carpets. Additional equipment includes lap belts, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a passenger grab handle, and dual dashboard storage compartments.
The banjo-style steering wheel fronts Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 105-mph speedometer with an inset clock, a tachometer, and a combination gauge for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 71k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.
The 1,250cc XPAG inline-four is equipped with dual SU carburetors for a factory rating of 57 horsepower.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.
The car is registered as Planned-Non-Operation in the state of California.
