This 1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible was sold new by Carlson Oldsmobile of Saint Louis, Missouri, to a person who had the car refurbished in the late 1980s and kept it until around 2005. The seller acquired the vehicle from its reported second owner in 2016. Powered by a 350ci Rocket V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission, the car is finished in Covert Tan with a power-operated beige convertible top over brown vinyl upholstery. Equipment includes a B&M shift kit, a Positraction differential, Rally wheels, front disc brakes, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, MSD ignition, dual exhaust, air conditioning, and a Kenwood cassette stereo. Now showing 74k miles, this Cutlass is offered with service records from current and prior ownership, a spare Oldsmobile-branded AM radio, and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.
The car was repainted in Covert Tan during the aforementioned refurbishment. The power-operated beige convertible top is accompanied by a brown top boot. Dual exhaust outlets protrude from beneath the rear bumper.
Rally 15″ wheels are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires, which were replaced in 2023. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums. The seller notes that the front shock absorbers, tie rods, brake rotors ,bearings and seals were replaced in 2018.
The bench seating surfaces are trimmed in brown vinyl upholstery. The front seat has a fold-down center armrest, and other appointments include air conditioning, woodgrain trim, lap belts, carpeted floor mats, and a Kenwood cassette stereo.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset clock, and secondary gauges. The five-digit odometer shows 74k miles, approximately 6k of which have been added under current ownership.
The 350ci Rocket V8 was rebuilt during the refurbishment by AMT Racing Engines of Ferguson, Missouri. Modifications include a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a K&N air filter, MSD ignition, and chrome valve covers. The oil was changed most recently in early 2024.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction differential. The transmission is equipped with a B&M shift kit. Ziebart rustproofing was applied in 1989.
