This 1980 Triumph TR8 convertible was purchased new from Paul Cerame Imports in Florissant, Missouri, by the seller, who has since driven the car approximately 38k miles. It is finished in Midas Gold Metallic over tan vinyl and tartan cloth, and it is powered by a 3.5-liter V8 that features dual Zenith carburetors and electronic ignition. Equipment includes a five-speed manual transmission, a stainless-steel exhaust system, a black convertible soft top, 13″ alloy wheels, front disc brakes, an AM/FM radio, and a cabin heater. This TR8 is now offered with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, a shop manual, service records, period sales brochures, and a clean Missouri title in the seller’s name.

The car is finished in Midas Gold Metallic (GCC) and features a black convertible soft top, a forward-hinged hood, a manual antenna, pop-up headlights, and functional hood louvers. The soft-top windows were replaced approximately 33 years ago following a break-in.

The 13″ alloy wheels show peeling clearcoat and are mounted with an older set of Dunlop tires that the seller recommends replacing. The car was factory equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering as well as anti-roll bars and an independent front suspension. A leak is noted from the power steering pump. Braking is provided by power-assisted front discs and rear drums, and the master cylinder was replaced about ten years ago.

The cabin houses bucket seats upholstered in tan vinyl and tartan plaid cloth that extends to the door panels. Interior appointments include a locking glovebox, a cabin heater, three-point seatbelts, and a rear parcel shelf. Air conditioning was a $600 option, but the system was removed approximately 33 years ago. Static is noted from the sound system, which features an AM/FM radio.

The leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel frames Smiths instrumentation consisting of an 85-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The five-digit odometer shows 38k miles.  The seller notes the speedometer pulses at low speeds which can be viewed in the video gallery.

The 3.5-liter Rover V8 features two Zenith carburetors and Lumenition Optronic electronic ignition. An oil change was performed in March 2024, and the spark plugs and ignition wires were changed in October 2020. A battery cut-off switch has been added, and an oil leak is noted by the seller. A hose has been added beneath the dashboard to bypass a leaky heater valve.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission. A stainless-steel exhaust system without resonators has been installed. The seller notes that a Zeibart undercoating was applied when the car was new.

The window sticker lists initial delivery to Paul Cerame Imports in Florissant, Missouri, as well as factory colors, equipment, and a total price of $12,775.

Manufacturer’s literature, service records, period literature, a 1/25th scale plastic model, and touch-up paint are included in the sale.
