This 1955 MG TF 1500 was initially registered in the US and it is said to have remained in storage from 1972 until it was refurbished between 2002 and 2003. The car was subsequently relocated to Canada and it was offered on BaT in June 2023 before it was acquired and re-imported to the US by the current owner. Subsequent work included replacing the front wheel cylinders and installing windshield-mounted side mirrors. The car is finished in red over color-coordinated leather upholstery and is powered by a 1.5-liter XPEG inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Additional equipment includes a fold-down windshield, a replacement tan soft top, removable side curtains, 15″ steel wheels, a banjo-style steering wheel, lap belts, octagonal Jaeger instrumentation, and dual SU carburetors. This TF 1500 is now offered on dealer consignment with recent service records and a clean Colorado title.

The body was removed from the frame, stripped to bare metal, and repainted in its current shade of red during the refurbishment. Exterior details include a fold-down windshield, a replacement tan soft top, removable side curtains, reverse-hinged doors, and chrome bumpers. Rectangular windshield-mounted mirrors were added under current ownership. A repaired paint chip is noted on the left front fender. The top is shown in the raised position in the gallery below along with photos taken during various stages of the refurbishment.

Silver-finished 15″ steel wheels with chrome-plated covers are mounted with 175-series Michelin ZX tires, and a full-size spare is mounted at the rear. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel drums. The front wheel cylinders were replaced in the spring of 2024, and the system was cleaned and flushed at that time.

The cabin was refreshed during the 2003 refurbishment, and it features two seats trimmed in red leather upholstery that are accompanied by a color-coordinated dashboard pad and door panels. Appointments include a passenger grab handle, lap belts, dual open glove compartments, and a dash-mounted rearview mirror.

A banjo-style steering wheel fronts octagonal Jaeger instrumentation consisting of a 105-mph speedometer with an inoperative inset clock as well as a tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, amperage, and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer shows 22k miles, approximately 85 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 1.5-liter XPEG inline-four was overhauled during the aforementioned refurbishment and is equipped with dual SU carburetors. Further work is said to have included replacing the radiator core and resealing the fuel tank. Various gaskets are said to have been replaced between 2021 and 2022.

The engine identification tag lists No̱ 1872, which corresponds to the engine number on the firewall data plate.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The car was fitted with a stainless-steel exhaust system under previous ownership.

T-Series catalogs and literature are included in the sale along with a binder of refurbishment documents.
