This 1991 Mazda MX-5 Miata is one of approximately 4,000 Special Edition examples produced for the model year, all of which were finished in British Racing Green over tan leather upholstery. It was first delivered to Mission Hills Mazda in California, and it was purchased new by the current owner’s late mother. The car shows 17k miles following registration history in the state. Power is supplied by a 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes 14″ Daisy alloy wheels, pop-up headlights, a wooden Nardi shift knob, and a cassette stereo. This Special Edition NA Miata is now offered by the seller on behalf of the owner at no reserve with a window sticker, the owner’s manual, service records, a car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.
The car is finished in British Racing Green with pinstriping and features a black soft top. Additional equipment includes pop-up headlights, chrome door handles, painted mirror caps, a convertible top boot, and a single exhaust outlet. Photos included in the gallery detail paint-meter readings as well as finish imperfections.
The 14″ Daisy alloy wheels are mounted with Hankook Kinergy ST tires, which have date codes from 2019. The car is equipped with an independent double wishbone suspension, front and rear stabilizer bars, and four-wheel disc brakes.
The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in tan leather along with color-coordinated door panels as well as a black upper dashboard and center console. Interior amenities include an AM/FM/cassette stereo, stainless steel sill plates, and power windows. Special Edition cars were equipped with a wood Nardi shift knob and handbrake grip along with Special Edition badging. Residue is present on the dash, and the air conditioning system does not work.
The four-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 140-mph speedometer, an 8k-rpm tachometer, and gauges for oil pressure, coolant temperature, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 17k miles.
The 1.6-liter DOHC inline-four was factory rated at 116 horsepower and 100 lb-ft of torque. Work in August 2020 included replacing the timing belt, water pump, valve cover gasket, serpentine belt, and spark plugs and wires.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential.
The window sticker shows initial deliver to Mission Hills Mazda in California, along with equipment and options. A dealer addendum notes a total price of $24,583. The sale also includes owner’s manuals, service records, a book, and a car cover.
The Carfax report is free from accidents or other reported damage.
