This 1968 Chevrolet Corvette convertible was acquired by the selling dealer in 2015, and it was refinished in orange in 2016 and the 427ci V8 was rebuilt in 2022. The car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, a black vinyl removable hardtop, retractable headlights, 15″ Rally wheels, four-wheel disc brakes, Bilstein shocks, a Dragvette 6-link rear suspension, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Mickey Thompson valve covers, a Be Cool aluminum radiator, an AM/FM radio, and a cabin heater. Additional work in 2022 included the replacement of the tires, rear wheels, rear hub mounting studs, fuel tank, spark plugs, intake manifold, exhaust manifold, and thermostat. This C3 convertible is now offered by the selling dealer with a 2022 service invoice and a clean New Jersey title.

The car was finished at the factory in Corvette Bronze, and a repaint in orange is said to have been completed in 2016. Features include a black vinyl removable hardtop, a cowl-induction hood, retractable headlights, chrome bumpers, side vents, and dual exhaust outlets. The rear luggage rack was installed in 2022. Paint imperfections are shown up close in the gallery.

The silver-painted 15″ Rally wheels feature chrome hubcaps and trim rings and are mounted with 225/60 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires that show sidewall cracking. The rear wheels and wheel studs were also replaced during the same service. Braking is handled by discs at each corner. Bilstein shocks and a Dragvette Products 6-Link rear suspension system are fitted.

The cabin features bucket seats upholstered in black vinyl as well as color-coordinated door panels and carpets. Amenities include an AM/FM radio, Corvette-emblem floor mats, and a cabin heater. Wear on the interior surfaces is shown in the gallery.

The three-spoke steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and a tachometer with a 6,500-rpm redline, while instrumentation found in the center stack includes an analog clock along with displays for fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 5k miles, approximately 100 of which were added under current ownership. Total mileage is unknown.

The 427ci V8 was rebuilt in 2022, and additional work involved replacing the intake manifold, exhaust manifolds, fuel tank, thermostat, water pump, spark plugs, and air cleaner assembly. Equipment includes a Holley four-barrel carburetor, Mickey Thompson valve covers, an MSD distributor and ignition coil, and a Be Cool aluminum radiator. The choke was removed under previous ownership.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission.

Decoding the trim tag reveals:

  • Date H22 – October 22 production date
  • Trim STD – Black vinyl upholstery
  • Paint 992 – Corvette Bronze
