This 1971 MG Midget was refinished in yellow over replacement black vinyl upholstery in 2024 before it was acquired by the seller in May 2024, and it powered by a 1,275cc inline-four paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment consists of a black convertible soft top, 13″ wire-spoke wheels, front disc brakes, a luggage rack, a roll bar, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, and a push-button radio. Work performed since March 2024 is said to have included a valve adjustment, installed PerTronix electronic ignition, and replacing the valve cover, fuel pump and filter, intake and exhaust manifold gaskets, and spark plugs. This Midget is now offered at no reserve with a clean Arizona title in the seller’s name.
The bodywork was repainted in Inca Yellow in April 2024, according to the seller, and exterior details include a black convertible soft top, a luggage rack, and chrome bumpers with overriders. The 13″ wire-spoke wheels are mounted with 155/80 Travelstar UN106 tires, and braking is handled by front discs and rear drums.
The seller states that seating surfaces were re-trimmed in black vinyl in 2023, and the seller reports that the door cards and carpets were replaced at that time. Interior appointments include a push-button radio, a cabin heater, a roll bar, and a Union Jack motif shift knob.
An aftermarket wood-rimmed steering wheel fronts a 100-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit odometer has rolled over and now shows 36k miles, a handful of which were added under current ownership. The turn signals are inoperative, and the fuel level and coolant temperature gauges do not work.
The 1,275cc inline-four featured dual SU downdraft carburetors, and it has been fitted with a polished aluminum valve cover. Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. The clutch was reportedly replaced under previous ownership.
