This 1954 Packard convertible was acquired by the seller in the mid-1990s out of Michigan. Powered by a replacement 327ci straight-eight linked to a replacement three-speed manual transmission with overdrive, the car is finished in red with a power-operated black soft top over red and white vinyl upholstery. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts and PerTronix ignition, and other features include wheel covers, whitewall tires, fender skirts, power windows, and a power-adjustable front seat. This Packard 5479 is now offered in Canada with service records, manufacturer’s literature, a service manual, a jack, and Ontario registration in the seller’s name.

The Cavalier-based convertible was stripped of that nameplate for the 1954 season, when it was referred to simply as the Packard convertible and 863 copies were produced. This example has been refinished in red urethane paint following rust repair, according to the seller, who notes that the power-operated black convertible top was replaced in 2000. Equipment includes fender skirts, a turned-down exhaust finisher, dual sideview mirrors, a pelican-style hood ornament, and chrome bumpers and trim.

Body-color steel wheels feature Packard-branded chrome covers and are mounted with Uniroyal Tiger Paw whitewall tires.

The front and rear bench seats have been retrimmed in red and white vinyl upholstery. Appointments include a power-adjustable front seat, power windows, a heater, and front lap belts. The AM radio and the clock are inoperable.

A red steering wheel with a partial horn ring sits ahead of a 110-mph speedometer and a combination gauge. The five-digit odometer shows 88k miles, approximately 30k of which were added under current ownership.

The 327ci inline-eight is a replacement unit that was installed under current ownership. The electrical system has been converted to 12 volts, and PerTronix ignition has been fitted. The oil was changed most recently in late 2023. The car was originally powered by a 359ci inline-eight.

Power is sent to the rear wheels through a replacement three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.

The vehicle is being offered on its Ontario registration, a form that serves as the ownership document in Ontario, Canada.
