This 1979 Mercedes-Benz 450SL was sold on BaT in December 2021 before it was acquired in 2024 by the selling dealer, who proceeded to overhaul the air conditioning system and replace the fan clutch and fuel accumulator. The car now shows 56k miles and is finished in English Red over Creme Beige leather upholstery. Power comes from a 4.5-liter V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission, and equipment includes a dark brown convertible soft top, a removable hardtop, 14″ Bundt alloy wheels, fog lights, a Pioneer CD stereo, power windows, and automatic climate control. This R107 is now offered with manufacturer’s literature and a clean Ohio title.

The bucket seats are upholstered in Creme Beige leather that extends to the center console and door panels, while woodgrain trim accents the cabin. A Pioneer CD head unit has been installed and other amenities include automatic climate control, cruise control, central locking, and power-operated windows. The wood trim behind the shifter is cracked.
The four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, an analog clock, and gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 56k miles, approximately 300 miles were added by the selling dealer.
The 4.5-liter M117 V8 features Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 180 horsepower and 220 lb-ft of torque. The air conditioning system was overhauled by the selling dealer in June 2024 with a replacement compressor, dryer, and expansion valve and recharged with R134a refrigerant. Additional work included changing the oil and replacing the fan clutch along with the fuel filter and accumulator.
Power is routed to the rear wheels via a three-speed automatic transmission.
