This 1991 Mercury Capri XR2 is finished in Cardinal Red over gray cloth upholstery and is powered by a turbocharged and intercooled 1.6-liter inline-four linked with a five-speed manual transaxle. The car is equipped with a black convertible soft top, a body-color removable hardtop, a rear spoiler, pop-up headlights, and 14″ alloy wheels. There are tears in the lower edge of the convertible top.
Cast alloy 14″ wheels are mounted with 185/65 Kelly Edge A/S tires. The XR2’s sport-tuned suspension has front and rear stabilizer bars, and its four-wheel disc brakes have 10.2″ ventilated front rotors.
The reclining front sport seats and rear bench are trimmed in gray cloth, and the four-passenger cabin has air conditioning, cruise control, a four-speaker sound system, a Clarion CD stereo, a fold-down rear seatback, and power windows, mirrors, and locks. The left front seat cover outer bolster is torn.
An airbag steering wheel frames the instrument cluster, which has a 140-mph speedometer and a tachometer flanked by auxiliary gauges. The six-digit odometer shows 60k miles. The Carfax report shows a potential odometer rollover entry in 2019.
The turbocharged and intercooled 1.6-liter inline-four features electronic fuel injection and was factory rated at 132 horsepower and 136 lb-ft of torque.
